What Do You Want?

When I teach yoga, before I begin the session, oftentimes I encourage the particpants to take a deep breathe and set their intention for class. It is perhaps one of the most powerful actions made in yoga. Before the pain starts and self doubt sets in, consider the purpose of being there. While each person is not asked for a public declaration of their intention, I fully expect those that follow the simple command indeed realize their intention by the end of class. My friends, life is no different.

Whether you are pondering a next step in life or a career move, take a moment to reflect on what you really want. What must you accomplish? What is non negotiable? What is important to you? Spend 10-15 minutes reflecting as your starting point to gain clarity.

After all, if you don’t know what you want; how can you ask for it?
